Three Wedgies From History
Grading this week's EIGHT total wedgies!
‘The Wedgie Scale’ breaks down wedgies in the categories of uniqueness (was it a 3 or free throw attempt?), game situation (did it happen early in the first half or in the clutch?), importance (playoff game or regular season?), and frivolities (any post-wedgie shenanigans or broadcast shoutouts?). Then we give it an overall grade on a scale of 1-5 Ralphs, named for the legendary Clippers broadcaster, Ralph Lawler, who originally coined the term.

WEDGIE NO. 54 | Mar. 8, 2026 | Luka Dončić (NYK-LAL)
UNIQUENESS: Luka picks off the pass, takes the bump from Knicks forward Mohamed Diawara, and sticks the wedgie from a very unique angle.
GAME SITUATION: Right near the end of the first half.
IMPORTANCE: Luka had 35 points as the Lakers overcame LeBron James’ injury absence to grind out a 110-97 victory over the Knicks.
FRIVOLITIES: I laugh every time Lakers’ PA announcer Lawrence Tanter delivers his monotoned “We have a wedgie” line to the crowd. This was the third wedgie of Luka’s career.
