‘The Wedgie Scale’ breaks down wedgies in the categories of uniqueness (was it a 3 or free throw attempt?), game situation (did it happen early in the first half or in the clutch?), importance (playoff game or regular season?), and frivolities (any post-wedgie shenanigans or broadcast shoutouts?). Then we give it an overall grade on a scale of 1-5 Ralphs, named for the legendary Clippers broadcaster, Ralph Lawler, who originally coined the term.

WEDGIE NO. 37 | Jan. 23, 2026 | Jordan Poole (NOP-MEM)

UNIQUENESS: Pelicans guard Jordan Poole sticks his first career wedgie. Honestly, I couldn’t believe that was true. Poole feels like the type of gunner who would have three or four wedgies by now. Nope. First one. Congratulations.

GAME SITUATION: First shot attempt of the second quarter. I like that.

IMPORTANCE: The Pelicans erased a big second-half deficit to defeat the Grizzlies 133-127 on Friday. But don’t worry Hawks fans, the Pels remain in last place in the Western Conference. Tankathon still looks sexy.

FRIVOLITIES: In a recent clip that's gone viral on social media, a kid asked Poole what it was like to get punched by Draymond Green back in a 2022 practice. Poole had an honest answer: “It was tough, bro.” Pretty honest answer.
