Moving Around The Studio

Some throwback photos

Quite often in conventional sports broadcasting, producers want their hosts to rotate between sets in different locations of the studio. “Let’s move you around! Use the entire space! It’ll keep viewers interested!”

Our first couple years as The Starters on NBA TV, we were in cavernous Studio B. Studio B had soooo much room to operate. And, we did! Mainly for “Crossfire” as you see above. This one happened to tie in to our “Pick ‘Em Payoff” after I lost our monthly game picks wager. Looking at that photo, I have so many questions: Did I get a stool? ‘Cause I don’t remember getting one. If I did, that was very kind of those aforementioned producers. Why did I have notes? We each talked for like 30 seconds per battle round. And, puppets can’t read. Did I try and match my shirt with the puppet’s? ‘Cause if I did, I failed. That was an oversight.
