‘The Wedgie Scale’ breaks down wedgies in the categories of uniqueness (was it a 3 or free throw attempt?), game situation (did it happen early in the first half or in the clutch?), importance (playoff game or regular season?), and frivolities (any post-wedgie shenanigans or broadcast shoutouts?). Then we give it an overall grade on a scale of 1-5 Ralphs, named for the legendary Clippers broadcaster, Ralph Lawler, who originally coined the term.

WEDGIE NO. 20 | Dec. 11, 2025 | Saddiq Bey (POR-NOP)

UNIQUENESS: Jordan Poole botches the reverse alley-oop layup, but Saddiq Bey hits the offensive glass to tip in Wedgie No. 20 on the season. Good effort by “A Bey Bey” to not quit on the play. I love how his eyes lit up when he saw that ball rattling out.

GAME SITUATION: About five minutes into Thursday night’s Blazers-Pelicans matchup. The crowd was a little sparse in the Smoothie King Center.

IMPORTANCE: The Pelicans snapped a seven-game losing streak with a 143-120 victory over the short-handed Blazers. Wedgies help teams win.

FRIVOLITIES: Two things ⤵️
